Experience: Garry Connor has over 20 years’ experience in promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. Recently, he worked on developing guidance for supporting learners with learning difficulties and disabilities to access education and vocational training in partnership with the Institute for Employment Studies. He has also supported a number of user groups on important issues, such as the campaign for the implementation of the ‘Fairer Charging’ Guidance working at all levels; including with local authorities and MP’s.
Garry was instrumental in the unprecedented success of a national disability inclusion project where he devised and delivered training to partners as diverse as the Tate Galleries, the London Symphony Orchestra and the Scouting Association. He has also managed supported living programmes for disabled people and developed a number of community involvement initiatives with disabled people.

Simmone has 15 years of experience working with children, young people and their families in her local community and in educational settings. Her focus has been on enhancing their lived experiences and developing strategies to assist their continued development and wellness.
As a trainer, she uses her previous experience, qualifications and transferable skills to deliver high quality training on equality, disability and safeguarding across the UK she also delivers and leads an ESF funded project specifically designed to build the confidence and competence of unemployed adults who have additional health needs.
Simmone has used her experience to influence current policy and culture and worked most notably with Universities UK as they launched their ‘Go International: Stand Out’ speaking internationally on their behalf.

Kenny has 30 years experience working with children and adults and their families.
As an experienced trainer Kenny has worked delivering on both a national and local level. He brings a wealth of specialist knowledge uses his previous experiences to shape his delivery.
In his current role Kenny is the lead trainer delivering safeguarding training in Oxfordshire on behalf of the county council. In addition to this he is responsible for the delivery of the Big lottery funded Building Better Opportunities project in Northampton. The main focus of this project is to engage those people who are furthest away from employment.
Kenny is a highly motivated, knowledgeable and approachable person who is able to make people feel comfortable and engaged when working in a 1:1 or group session
He also has experience of running high profile campaigns against planned service cuts to disadvantaged and vulnerable people.
BEng Software Engineering from Sheffield University
Mark has over 9 years experience in the computing industry, providing IT support for front-line staff, and writing bespoke software for the public sector and oil industry. Mark has a broad knowledge of the use of IT in the workplace. Part of Mark’s role is to support people who attend our courses to develop and improve their computing and office skills.
Mark suffered from anxiety and depression; which affects his ability to work, and after completing the ‘Breaking Down The Barriers’ course, Mark now is a passionate peer supporter; helping people with difficulties similar to his own to prepare for a return to work, and in developing their skills for the modern workplace.

Experience: Cheryl Patrick has over 30 years’ experience of working in the field of disability. Originally having an arts based teaching background, her career in disability equality, inclusive practice and communication skills has led to her working on and managing a variety of projects for the voluntary, private and statutory sector. Cheryl has worked with such organisations as LOCOG, BBC, Solicitors Regulation Authority, Museums Libraries and Archives Service, Football Association, Tate Galleries, The London Ambulance Service, London Transport London Symphony Orchestra, Prison Service and Jobcentre Plus , delivering and designing training and eLearning packages for staff and management. Cheryl has worked closely with Garry Connor for numerous years and together they have established a well respected training partnership. A highly motivating professional with a long standing interest in the management of children and people with learning disabilities. Cheryl’s key quality is her boundless enthusiasm which inspires those around her to strive for excellence.

Experience: Melissa’s areas of specialism are: Community Engagement, Equality & Diversity, and Cultural Awareness
Melissa has worked with a range of clients across sectors, equipping them with the skills and knowledge in a variety of areas, related to social regeneration. Prior to becoming a specialised trainer and consultant in 2010, Melissa was a Director of a Youth Engagement company, which provided specialist youth engagement service delivery to a range of clients, across sectors. Melissa is an active Board Member of Herefordshire Housing and Nehemiah UCHA.
Melissa designs, delivers and facilitates bespoke training courses for organizations in line with their operational and strategic outcomes to meet both local needs and national priorities. Melissa also has a range of pre designed training courses, with topics including Equality & Diversity, Cultural Awareness, Community Engagement.
Melissa is a seasoned and passionate trainer with a strong interest in Social Regeneration. Melissa has over 12 years professional experience within the Social Housing Sector, where she has developed a specific skill set in Community Engagement. She is a dynamic Trainer and Consultant and able to deliver strategically and operationally within her field.

Experience: Sandra is an extremely experienced teacher, trainer and NVQ assessor with a multitude of transferable skills. She has taught English and Spanish both in the UK and Spain. In her long career she has had senior positions in children’s services. Her many roles have included, senior worker with ‘looked after’ children and Training and Development Manager for Ingleside Childrens’ Homes Ltd. Sandra has been an NVQ assessor and tutor in childcare for several years in a wide variety of settings. She is expert in developing Quality Assurance policies and procedures as well as monitoring their effectiveness.Most notably she has been responsible for co-ordinating the development and awarding of the Investor’s in People Award. Sandra was twice shortlisted for the National Training Awards. She was also a contributor to the book ‘Achieving Positives Outcomes for Looked after Children’.
